Aamer Rahman and Nazeem Hussain are performing the first of their Melbourne
shows for their national "Fear of a Brown Planet" tour at Noise Bar in
Brunswick St, at 7pm, Sunday 16th March 2008.

This show is a benefit gig to raise money for Lex Wotton, respected Palm
Island resident whose trial in Brisbane begins on 7th April 2008, for
charges relating to what became known as the Palm Island "riot" in November
2004. The so-called "riot" was an anti-racist action taken by over 400 Palm
Island residents in response to the autopsy report on the death of Cameron
(Mulrunji) Doomadgee in the Palm Island lock-up on November 19th 2004.

The policeman eventually charged with manslaughter and assault in relation
to Mulrunji's death was cleared by an all-white jury in June 2007. Lex, on
the other hand, is being pursued by the courts for allegedly leading the
protest on Palm Island. The state has singled out Lex Wotton with a charge
of "riot with destruction," a charge that could lead to a sentence in excess
of ten years. He needs your help to pay for the costs of his trial and
accommodation in Brisbane.
