Dear Friends,

Civil Rights Defence is holding a protest action on February 13 to demand
that anti-terrorism charges against thirteen Melbourne men are dropped and
to call for the repeal of Australia's anti-terrorism laws.

WHEN?
Wednesday 13 February at 9am

WHERE?
Outside the Supreme Court of Victoria, 210 William Street, Melbourne

WHY?
Civil Rights Defence demands that all charges against the 'Barwon 13' are
dropped. The men are not charged with committing or conspiring to commit
injury to people or damage to property. They are charged with the new
crimes of 'belonging to a terrorist organisation' and possessing 'a thing'
to do with terrorism. These laws have no place in a free, democratic
society. We reject all charges and prosecutions under these laws. We also
reject the use of arbitrary punishment against those charged under these
laws. You can find out more about the case of the 'Barwon 13' on our
website at: http://www.civilrightsdefence.org/?page_id=47

WHAT TO DO?
Come along and show your support for this important civil and human rights
campaign. Thanks to those who responded to our last call for support. We
will be phoning round to let people know more about this action nearer to
the day. In the meantime, if you are interested in finding out more or
want to show your support for Civil Rights Defence, please write to this
email address or telephone 0407 856 628.

As usual, we meet every Tuesday at 6:30pm in the New International
Bookshop, Trades Hall, cnr. Lygon and Victoria streets, Melbourne. All are
welcome.

Thank you for your support.

Will,
Civil Rights Defence
