1. URGENT APPEAL [09/07/06]: MST files habeas corpus for National Coordinator, Enio Bohnenberger **DRAFT E-LETTER INCLUDED**
Dear Friends of the MST,
As many of you are aware, on the 4th of July of 2006, a judge from the 11th District Court of Belo Horizonte ordered the preventative imprisonment of our colleague Enio, member of the MST's National Coordinating Body and longtime Human Rights activist...On Tuesday [09/05/06] we filed for habeas corpus at the Minas Gerais Tribunal of Justice. It is very important that all organizations, movements, friends of the MST and others send emails/letters to the authorities, demanding the immediate release of our dear colleague.

2. E-CAMPAIGN [09/07/06] Syngenta threatens, attempts to criminalize Brazil's social movements **EMAIL CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED**
Dear Friends of the MST,
In an attempt to criminalize the Via Campesina, this week Syngenta's lawyers in Brazil (the same lawyers that represent Monsanto) filed a police inquiry against six Via Campesina members, including the state leader of the Movement of the Landless Rural Workers (MST)...As such, we are stepping up the pressure on Syngenta by asking you to please send the attached letter to Pedro Rugeroni, the head of Syngenta in Brazil, as well as Syngenta's Media Branch in Switzerland.
