Command of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN).

To the people of Mexico:

To the people of the World

Brothers and Sisters:

The attack that our fellow brothers and sisters from Oaxaca cannot be 
ignored by those that fight for freedom, justice and democracy in all the 
corners of the world.

Due to this, the EZLN is calling all honest people, in Mexico and the World 
to initiate, starting from now continuos actions of solidarity and support 
to the Oaxacan people, with the following demands:

That the disappeared by return alive, that the detainees be freed, that 
Ulises Ruiz and the federal forces leave Oaxaca, for the punishment of those 
responsible for the tortures, rapes and murders.  To sum up, for freedom, 
democracy and justice for the people of Oaxaca.

We call on all those that are in this international campaign to denounce, in 
all forms and all places possible, what has happened and is happening in 
Oaxaca, each one in his/her own way, time and place.

We call on these actions to come  together in a world-wide mobilisation on 
the 22nd of December 2006.

The people of Oaxaca are not alone.  We have to say it and demonstrate it to 
them and to all.

Democracy!

Liberty!

Justice!

Message from APPO (Oaxacan People's Assembly)

We greet with joy this initiative of the EZLN.
the Oaxacan People's Assembly (APPO) welcomes the initiative that the EZLN 
has taken in calling a great world-wide mobilisation in solidarity with this 
community.

The extreme Right, which today has positioned itself in the political class 
is planning a great attack on the democratic forces, and one symptom of this 
attack is the state of siege that we are living in Oaxaca, the capital of 
the resistance.

We welcome and call on the EZLN and The Other Campaign to together 
strengthen the unity of all the non-conformers, the dispossessed, the 
different, the landless, the homeless so as one person we can defeat our 
common enemy.  We believe comrades, that this is our task, the biggest task.

Brothers and sisters of the EZLN, in Oaxaca the cooperation of the federal 
and state government (a cooperation sealed with blood) have made it a crime 
to seek justice and they have unleased a fierce persecution against our 
community without precedent.  Today our APPO has not place to meet, there is 
not street in Oaxaca to demonstrate without afterwards many of our comrades 
being arrested.  Oaxaca is living in a militarised state.  This comrades, 
doesn't scare us, only shows us the justness of our struggle.  The APPO 
today, finds itself in the darkness of night, knowing that there is not long 
to wait for the bright day to arrive.
